Capturing Lizzy Shaw’s Interior design in Houston, Texas in the West University area was fabulous!!! When she reached out to me to capture professional interior photography for her game room interior design project I was so excited as the work she has done in the past is SO stunning. This made me eager to see what her current project of the game room was going to look like!
What I loved most about Lizzy and her work is that she can transform and design an entire room based on one single item or piece of decor into something absolutely incredible! Her attention to detail and vision are impeccable! Lizzy designed the whole space around the larger-than-life scrabble board that her clients had received as a wedding gift and I couldn’t believe how well it all came together!
The game room was a beautiful traditional room that could go from a full-on playroom for their little one to a neat and tidy room for welcoming adult friends over for a game night! The kid’s toys and games were stashed away in the sofa cabinets as well as the gorgeous brown leather ottoman she had picked out for the living room. I really loved the color coordination there was in the game room as well. The blue in the accent pillows and the Mikaela Chair matched the lounge chairs perfectly and the brown from the ottoman coordinated so well with the larger-than-life scrabble board on the wall. She created an awesome space that was definitely pleasing to the eye but she also used durable fabrics and materials that could actually hold up well for pets and toddlers alike.
Lizzy was clear about the elements of the design she really wanted to show off so we made sure to capture shots of those elements as both a toddler playroom and a clean, tidy and welcoming space, which showed that not only could the game room be for little kids but also big kids! When it comes to designing a room there’s so much and so little detail you can put together that transforms the room making it have multiple uses. Lizzy had the skill to do just that!
What Lizzy loved most about shooting together was that we shot wirelessly tethered to my iPad which allowed her to move stuff in and out of the frame so she could see the exact look she was going for! I love offering this to my interior design clients because it gives them a whole different perspective on what the photograph will look like and how they can move items or furniture around to fit their vision.
