It was such a privilege to capture Erika interacting with the children at the Blossom Height Child Development Center for her brand photography session. Blossom Heights was such a beautiful place. As they believe in children learning naturally through play experiences, from both indoor and outdoor activities. Whether that be self-directed or adult-guided, one of the many things that Erika would observe!
I loved being able to photograph Erika working in different environments observing and interacting with children in a state of Flow while they play and build on their strengths and curiosities. She defines Flow as the optimal place of development. Watching Erika do her thing was like watching the real Mary Poppins come to life!! The children would literally flock to her! It was so sweet! She truly has a calm and welcoming demeanor to her which the children picked up on immediately.
After capturing Erika at Blossom Heights we headed to her home office to capture her training on zoom calls with early childhood coaches, directors, and teachers where she educates them on her findings as well as provides consultation and content development.
In addition, we snuck in a couple of photos of some things she enjoys doing such as drawing and playing the harp. Because what’s a branding photography session without showing your personality! Not only did we showcase Erika’s personality but her two birds wanted a chance to be in the spotlight as well!
We ended Erika’s brand photography session with her telling me all about her book, Hearing All Voices, which she co-authored with Jill Aviles. A book that goes in-depth about the importance of equity in the interactions coaches and teachers have with children and their families. As well as a guidebook on how to support early childhood coaches to get tools and knowledge as they guide teachers in early childhood settings.
Brand photography sessions aren’t just about taking headshots and getting professional photos done for your business it’s about capturing you and your personality and what your brand entails, as this attracts your ideal clients!
By showing other areas within your business that you excel in and stand apart from you can get your audience’s attention as well as have them fall in love with you and your personality.
I truly enjoyed working with Erika and capturing her passions through her work as she is just one of those people you could sit and visit with for hours.
