In the world of interior design, capturing the essence of a space goes beyond just snapping photos of beautifully decorated rooms. It’s about telling a story and showcasing the creative minds behind the magic. It’s also about giving clients a glimpse into the passion and dedication that goes into each project. By giving clients a glimpse of how the magic comes together, we can create a strong interior design brand identity. In this blog, I will share my experience working with Double L Interiors and the significance of incorporating brand images alongside interior photographs.
While stunning interior photos provide a visual narrative of an interior designer’s work, brand images offer a deeper connection by putting a face to the creative process. Double L Interiors recognized this and approached me for two separate photoshoots to capture both the completed interior project and the faces behind the brand.
Double L Interiors, spearheaded by Linda and Kenedy, is a powerhouse in the industry, known for their bold and eclectic style. When I was approached to photograph one of their latest projects, I knew it was going to be something special. The client’s vision was clear: they wanted their home to feel like an art gallery, a space where guests would be transported into a world of color and creativity the moment they stepped through the door.
The interior photoshoot itself was a whirlwind of excitement and inspiration. From the vibrant pops of color to the eclectic mix of furniture and decor, every corner of the home told a story of its own. Kenedy described the space as “modern, funky, and altogether a unique color explosion…. from the funkiest art, the wall of mirrors, and the Murano glass chandelier from Italy, it truly could not have turned out better!” … and I would completely agree!! Linda and Kenedy’s attention to detail was impeccable, and it was evident that they poured their hearts and souls into bringing their client’s vision to life.
One of the highlights of the shoot was the primary bedroom. It was a serene oasis amidst the color explosion of the rest of the home. Stepping into that space felt like a breath of fresh air, a moment of tranquility amidst the chaos of everyday life. It was a testament to Double L Interiors’ ability to tailor their designs to fit their client’s needs and preferences seamlessly.
But beyond capturing the beauty of the finished project, we also wanted to peel back the curtain and give clients a glimpse behind the scenes. This is where the second shoot came into play. We wanted to highlight the faces behind the brand, showcasing Linda and Kenedy’s personalities and giving clients a taste of the magic that happens behind closed doors. It required meticulous planning and coordination, but the resulting images were invaluable in solidifying Double L Interiors’ brand identity.
The branding shoot was a perfect complement to the interior photoshoot, providing a more intimate look at the creative process and the people behind the designs. From candid shots of them brainstorming ideas to capturing their infectious energy and passion for their work. It was an opportunity to truly bring their brand to life.
While organizing multiple shoots may require a bit more planning upfront, the long-term benefits are undeniable. Not only does it allow for greater variety in your marketing materials, but it also creates a cohesive brand identity that resonates with clients on a deeper level. As an added bonus, it’s a great opportunity to update headshots. You can also capture quick lifestyle shots that can be sprinkled throughout your marketing efforts.
I’m always game to capture those quick lifestyle shots and an updated headshot during my interior shoots. However, having a full-on branding shoot, where I can be very hands-on in the planning if needed, really gives you more long-term variety. You can then add little updated shots along the way at the interior design shoots!
In the end, working with Double L Interiors was a wonderful experience. Their passion for design is contagious! By capturing the completed interior project alongside images that depicted the faces behind the brand, we successfully created a strong interior design brand identity.
