Lindsey at Hostie Vacation Rentals, the property manager of Cricket Farms vacation rental in Round Top Texas, knew that vacation rental photography would help improve her listing so she reached out to me to capture interior photos for one of her beautiful properties. 

When I drove up to Cricket Farms I immediately went “ahhhh”  because of how cozy and welcoming it was. I absolutely loved the dark exterior paint mixed with wood and rusted-looking metal AND … being a modern version of the dog trot layout. I was on cloud nine! 

And don’t get me started on the interior! The second you walk in you are met with pops of vibrant colors on neutral backdrops with splashes of eclectic western design and art that are such a treat to the eyes! 

Not only was it a treat to the eyes, it was a treat to capture! Keep in mind there is a big difference in real estate photography and interior photography. They may seem like the same exact thing but there are some big differences! 

As an Airbnb host you aren’t selling the house or property but the feeling you get when you stay at the property. It’s all about the vibe! With interior photography, the images should capture the moods and feels of the interior. The images should make you envision yourself there.

Although real estate photographers capture interior photos, real estate photography is more about fast and literal photos for quick sales than telling a story through each image. Interior photography is all about showcasing your listing to the best of its ability and having each image stand on its own. 

For example, the image below should give you a cozy feeling. You should be able to picture yourself and your significant other or friend cozying up near the fire while snacking on the charcuterie board one evening. 

Interior photography and real estate photography serve two different purposes so it is important to know the difference and what the intent is behind getting photos done for your vacation rental.
