When you hear “Brand photos” you may think it has to do with an individual, a single person, but that’s not always the case! Brand photography is for all businesses, from solopreneurs, coaches, bloggers, influencers, restaurants, bars, and more take it from a Houston Brand Photographer who has photographed many different businesses from real estate agents to a landscape management company!
Just look at these brand photos taken for Revise Home Improvement for example! Evelyn, the owner of Revise HTX, was in the process of going through a complete rebranding process with Embolden Design Studio and needed new images that accurately reflected her and her new soon-to-be branding.
Evelyn takes spaces and systems within homes, revises them, and tailors them to best fit her clients. She needed new images to not only convey who she was, a trusted professional organizer and personal project manager, but also images that gave glimpses into her professional process.
Your brand is so much more than color palettes, logos, and a slogan! It’s a visional representation of YOU and your business. And there’s no better way to show that than with a personal brand photography shoot by a professional brand photographer. But how do you prepare for it?
One of my favorite things about working with Evelyn was that she came prepared! She completed all of the small homework tasks that I had given her prior to the brand photography shoot, even though I gave it to her in a very short amount of time. Not only that, but she really took all of my ideas and suggestions as far as the setting and props to convey her message and just ran with it! Doing this not only helps you become prepared for the shoot but your photographer too!
Here are a couple more tips to help you rock your next brand shoot, just like Evelyn did!
1. Make a list of your goals for the brand shoot
You need to have a clear intent on what you what your brand to portray as well as your photos! Ask yourself, Are you rebranding? Are you launching a new course or product? Or are you wanting to grow your business by showcasing your personality and work through photos? Once you know why you can start mapping out all the details and bring them to life into life through your brand photos!
2. Figure out where you’re going to use the photos!
Are they for your website? Resume? Social media? Its important to let your brand photographer know this so they can take the right photos!
3. Create a mood board for your brand photoshoot!
Mood boards may be one of my favorite things to do with my clients! They are a great way to visualize the look you are wanting for your shoot. Not only will it help the photographer get a better insight into your vision but it will also help you think about how you would like to dress and style yourself for the shoot!
4. Last but not least hire a professional photographer!
Find a photographer that is a perfect fit for you and your business. Do some research and see if they fit your vibe/style and reach out to them as soon as possible. See if they understand your vision, and aesthetic as well as provide you with insight on what will work best for you and your brand.
